He was born in 11 Dec, 1969. His father worked high official in the south Indian Railways while his mother, and Mother is Housewife. She was a chess lover and initiated Anand into the game at the age of 5 at a very young age. He completed B.Com degree from the Loyola College, Chennai.

MARRIED LIFE OF VISHY

He is married to Aruna, who supports him in preparation for his tournaments. The British Chess Federation book of the Year awarded in 1988 for his book "My Best Games of Chess".  And hobbies are swimming, listening to music, reading books. He is presently lives in Collado Mediano in Spain with him wife.

ENTRY TO WORLD CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS

In 1988 He became the first Grand master of India, by winning the International Chess tournament held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. This achievement won him one of India's most prestigious civilian awards the Padma Shri. Chess Player Viswanathan Anand entered the World Chess Championship competitions in 1993 and rubbed shoulder with some of the biggest names in the World Chess, including Gary Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov.
